Questionnaire
| How did you discover anime? |
|
I saw Akira and Ghost in the Shell (courtesy of some friends), which I enjoyed but didn't really follow up. I watched Pokemon for a while, but that hardly enforced my interest. A few years after that someone showed me the first few episodes of Hellsing and Stand Alone Complex. They weren't really interested, but I couldn't get over them and soon after tracked down the following episodes. From there on I gradually became more involved as I realised how expansive anime actually is. Intrigue, became interest, interest became addiction. |
| How much anime do you actually watch? Ever made the time to read manga too? |
|
I'll almost always make time for an episode of something at the end of the day. Generally I won't watch more than 4 to 5 epsiodes in one go, though if I'm bored that can stretch to around 10. I try to read manga from time to time, but I'm prone to neglecting it due to busy schedules and work. |
| Other than the obvious anime addiction, what else do you enjoy? |
| Videogames, drawing, coffee and weird sci-fi films. |
| Tell us all about yourself? |
|
Not sure what I can say; University student and something of an oddball geek. Prone to complaining, stressing and being unintentionally obnoxious. |
| What is it that you love about anime? |
| Its the ultimate form of escapism I suppose. Drawn animation provides a potentially limitless setting and is unhindered by the boundaries of reality. Ideas can be realised more accurately than in live action work, and it's easier to suspend disbelief somehow. Essentially freedom of expression. |
