How did you discover anime?
I don't really remember - I just seemed to impulsively want Neon Genesis Evangelion and convinced my uncle to buy it for me over Ebay, even though I didn't know what it was.
How much anime do you actually watch? Ever made the time to read manga too?
I watch quite a lot because I love art and fiction. I don't make a point of watching series again and again if I don't enjoy them, but I spend as much money as I can spare on anime and other mediums (games, films etc.).

I have made the time to read manga and I'm currently reading the ninth volume of Ouran Highschool Hostclub. I've also bought yaoi manga >.> but I tend to buy anime instead of manga.
Other than the obvious anime addiction, what else do you enjoy?
I'm terribly academic and artsy, so almost every subject has some appeal to me, but I most enjoy art, criticism, philosophy, politics, psychology and theology.
Tell us all about yourself?
I'm an nineteen year old academic, vegetarian, bi, slightly Gothic, hoping to study English literature at university and I love to read and write, but I have very particular tastes.
What is it that you love about anime?
Japanese culture - its emphasis on kawaii, technology and youth, its art and moral sentiment. The overlap in my favourite mediums (videogames) and the shape fandom has taken in the West, largely as an imitation of that in the East. I'm also interested in the way Japan is happy to spread its culture through anime, fans are happy to recieve it, but institutions, from the news to government, are hostile.

The aesthetics of anime and its storytelling are also of great enjoyment.
