How did you discover anime?
The oldest one I can remember is Ribon no kishi (http://en.wikipedia.org/w...), watching some sort of re-run. I only realize what anime meant in 90, when I first seen Akira.

Before that I've seen Yamato, Kimba and speed racer without realizing it was anime.
How much anime do you actually watch? Ever made the time to read manga too?
I actually need my daily fix of anime... I do want to collect most of the stuff listed in the top 200 at animenfo ...

Yes, read a few. Back home I could proudly say that I read all manga ever published (about 20 / 30 titles in 17 years). Since I moved to UK, I've only got Kingdom hearts, Akira, GTO and xxxHolic.

Other than the obvious anime addiction, what else do you enjoy?
Music. Used to play bass guitar in bands mainly rock, heavy metal, punk and hardcore bands.
I want to try my hand at garage kits.
I play games, but I can stay away from games more than a week. I do have a need for everything Final Fantasy.
Tell us all about yourself?
Computer engineer from Brazil in his late 20s. My ancestors are japanese.

Likes anime, manga, books, movies both those that I don't need my brains and arthouse movies, computers, friends and family.

Dislikes - mm, the weather here? And expensive stuff. No, I'm not cheap, I just interested in everything, so the cheaper I can buy, the faster I can collect them. I don't mind paying up if I really love the stuff.

What is it that you love about anime?
It's escapism for me. It has more depth them your regular cartoons. They cover virtually everything, every theme, it's so diverse and also so japanese, that it's almost impossible not to appeal to me.

Hi chaos (just getting the hang of this shoutbox thing - I initally posted it on my own!)

Yeah, I should amend my list really. Kino is about to slot into number 5 and push Gunbuster out. Only seen the first few eps. of Mushi-shi but I like what I'm seeing.

Heya! Argh, sorry I'm getting back to you about two months later~ I seldom look at my profile. Oops! Anywho, course you can add me! ^^ And 'SHNY' is short for 'Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu', or 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'.

Giant Robo is amazing and I recommend that you watch it as soon as possible. Don't be turned off by the retro design and silly sounding title; it's actually a dark and fairly adult show that doesn't have that many giant robots at all.

There's some good anime in your list. I'm watching Twelve Kingdoms at the moment - currently towards the end of the third arc, which looks to be heading towards an exciting conclusion - and it's a really great show.

Thank for the message. Yes, Martin Lewis's website rocks. You never know when you need extra cash, I learnt that the hard way a few years ago, hence why I blog.
