Supermarket own brand goods will rival brand name products as consumers feel the credit crunch pinch instore. Recent findings from MySupermarket.com have revealed that shoppers will face more than a £1,000 rise in their food shopping bill at supermarkets this year. On average food has... [Read more]
Summer anime that you might have missed (posted on Sep 12, 2008)
With the autumn anime season just around the corner, I thought I would take a look back at some of this summer's shows worthy of a second look: Shion no Ou "Where are the ninjas?" shout people on You Tube who have mistaken this series for the similarly titled Nabari no Ou . Shion... [Read more]
Manga Olympics (posted on Aug 25, 2008)
Well, it had to happen, as the Beijing Olympics draws to a close, I thought I would take a look at sporting events - albeit the manga way! It happened by chance, earlier last week I was typing away at a journalism article when my little brother remarked that, "Volleyball is cool." Now,... [Read more]
An end of a feeling (posted on Aug 21, 2008)
I had the most surprising phone call today, from someone I once knew a long time ago. To hear a person's voice again, it doesn't always fill you with happiness, sometimes it can fill you with sadness instead. Sadness because I kept thinking if things had gone another way, perhaps it would be... [Read more]
Fruits Basket: Momiji & the failure of dreams (posted on Aug 15, 2008)

How did you discover anime?
When friends invited me to see Howl's Moving Castle. It was only when I was actually in the cinema did they tell me it was a romance. They then thwarted my attempts to leave and I'm thankful for it. Now I read a silly amount of shojo manga.
How much anime do you actually watch? Ever made the time to read manga too?
Lots! I've finally been kicked of the TV for watching too much anime (even though I claimed it was for 'research.') Manga is my life saver for long tube journeys.
Other than the obvious anime addiction, what else do you enjoy?
Let's see... eating cakes! Seriously, I'm like Hunny from Host Club.
Tell us all about yourself?
Journalism student, prone to manga hair cuts and a serious manga addiction. Ditched english music in favour of J-Rock cds two years and never looked back. If I ever met Ruki from GazettE, I would seriously consider stealing his jacket.
What is it that you love about anime?
The freedom and endless possibility. People stop believing in things when they grow up. But Tohru Honda and her "Never give ups!" convinced me to continue believing in this beautiful and flawed world.
