How did you discover anime?
Early in 2004, I was hanging out with a friend at university, when he announced he was going to an anime screening at the sci-fi society, and asked if I wanted to come along. Not really knowing what anime was, but having nothing better to do, I went to see what turned out to be the first half of Slayers. After that, I carried on going to the screenings.
How much anime do you actually watch? Ever made the time to read manga too?
Hmm, I suppose I don't really watch that much anime, maybe 5 episodes a week? It varies. Everything in moderation ^^
I read quite a bit of manga though.
Other than the obvious anime addiction, what else do you enjoy?
Computer games, I read other than manga; all sorts of genres, I go swimming and cycling, and I'm not bad at pool.
Tell us all about yourself?
Satou Tatsuhiro minus the creepy/illegal aspects.
What is it that you love about anime?
It can tell really great stories ^^
Unlike live-action, it's not so very limited by the need for a high budget to get the necessary effects, which gives the medium more freedom to tell a story.
Also, by and large, anime tends to end - something which seems conspicuously absent in many terrestrial shows, which go on until they stop making a turnover. For example, Haibane Renmei is a breathtaking show, but I think 13 episodes is just the right length to it - the story is told, any more would just be an artificial extension.
