DreamWorks’ Ghost in the Shell Slated For April 2017

After signing on a big name such as Scarlet Johansson, it was really only a matter of time before DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of Ghost in the Shell received the greenlight and moved further down the production line. Last night, parent company Disney revealed a slate of brand new release dates for some of their upcoming features, which included the first indication that the company is seriously moving forward with an adaptation of Shirow Masamune’s iconic cyberpunk series.

Currently set to be directed by Snow White and the Huntsman‘s Rupert Sanders based on a script by The Hoax‘s William Wheeler, DreamWorks’ Ghost in the Shell has been given a North American theatrical release date of 14th April 2017. The news also confirmed that the film will be released in 3D, as well as traditional 2D.

Are you looking forward to Hollywood’s take on the classic series?
