Crunchyroll Launching On Wii U This Thursday

For a while now, fans of Japanese anime and Asian drama series’ in Europe have been able to stream thousands of hours worth of content to various device, from phones, tablets, smart TVs and even Microsoft’s video game consoles through a dedicated application for the Crunchyroll streaming service and now, the company is expanding their reach even further.

On Christmas Day last year, Crunchyroll launched an official application for their service on the Wii U’s Nintendo eShop in North America, marking the first time their service has been available on a Nintendo console. At the time, an official announcement from the company mentioned plans to expand the service to other territories in early 2015 and now, through a press release announcing this week’s upcoming downloads, Nintendo of Europe have announced that the Crunchyroll application will be coming to European Wii U owners when the digital store updates on Thursday 8th January – just in time for the Winter 2015 season!

A premium membership is required to use the Wii U’s Crunchyroll application, but you can start a 14 Day Free Trial.
