Tokyo Ghoul:re Manga Announced

Sui Ishida is set to launch a new series called Tokyo Ghoul:re in the 46th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine as revealed by the cover. The previous issue of the magazine teased, “The legend has a beginning. If you bear witness to this beginning, it will be a moment you will never forget as long as you live!!”

Sui Ishida’s fantasy-horror manga originally followed Ken Kaneki, a university student who finds himself being attacked by a “ghoul”, a human-like creature with a hunger for human flesh. He is only saved by an accident that leaves the ghoul dead and Kaneki with serious injuries. Following the incident he discovers that the organs of the ghoul were transplanted into his body, making him a half-human/half-ghoul hybrid.

Tokyo Ghoul was originally launched in 2011 in Weekly Young Jump before moving to Young Jump where it finished in September, 2014. The manga was turned into a 12 episode anime by Pierrot, directed by Shuhei Morita. The anime has been renewed for a second season which will air in January.
