Tokyo Ghoul To Get Second Season In January

Yesterday, the final episode of Tokyo Ghoul, the 12-episode anime adaptation from Pierrot and Academy Award-nominated director Shuhei Morita, aired in Japan.

The series, which is based on a fantasy-horror manga by Sui Ishida, followed Ken Kaneki, who finds himself being attacked by a “ghoul”, a human-like creature with a hunger for human flesh. After an accident leaves the ghoul dead and Kaneki with serious injuries, the university student discovers that the organs of his hunter have been transplanted into his body, thus leaving him as a half-human/half-ghoul hybrid.

Today, the official Chinese website for the series confirmed that a second TV anime will be airing in January 2015.

Wakanim and Animax simulcast the first season in the United Kingdom as it aired.
