Under the Dog Kickstarter Almost Hits Goal

The Kickstarter campaign to fund the anime sci-fi thriller, Under the Dog has almost hit its target of $580,000 and still has just under 70 hours to go!

Synopsis

Under the Dog takes place in 2025 in Neo Tokyo, five years after a devastating terrorist attack at the Tokyo Olympics. In the wake of the tragedy, the U.N. formed a covert ops unit dedicating to seeking out, then eliminating those responsible for the attack. Anthea Kallenberg, a girl of Swedish descent is a member of this elite group who has honed her combat abilities and has become a deadly assassin, but must come to terms as to who she really is.

Creative Intelligence Arts launched their Kickstarter campaign to create a 24 minute episode for Under the Dog back in August. It has picked up a lot of fans due to the fact that follows in the footsteps of older cyber-punk anime like Ghost in the Shell. The anime is directed by Masahiro Ando who is famous for directing the action anime CANAAN and Sword of the Stranger. Kinema Citrus is animating and their work can be seen in the beautiful and charming Barakamon as well as the emotionally harrowing and tough Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.

The final date is September 07th and it looks like the anime could reach its target.
