BFI Southbank showing Giovanni’s Island in October

Recently, Production I.G.’s theatrical feature Giovanni’s Island was confirmed to be a part of the line-up for both the Glasgow and Edinburgh legs of the annual Scotland Loves Anime festival. Today, it has also been confirmed that Mizuho Nishikubo’s Grave of the Fireflies-esque mix of childhood innocence and brutality of war will also be able to be enjoyed by cinemagoers on the other side of the border, as it will also be shown at London’s BFI Southbank this October.

There are two scheduled screenings for the movie. The first is on Friday 10th October at 6:15pm, while the other is at 1pm the following day (Saturday 11th).  Tickets for both showings will go on sale on Thursday 18th September.
