Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel Film and Fate/stay night details announced

For a while now, it’s been known that ufotable will begin broadcasting their own anime adaptation of Type-Moon’s visual novel Fate/stay night this October, following on from the success of their 2011 adaptation of Gen Urobuchi’s Fate/Zero light novel prequel series. At an event in Tokyo earlier today, the staff behind the series confirmed a few details about the upcoming series:

  • This new series will follow the Unlimited Blade Works route of the original game, which was also adapted into a theatrical feature by Studio DEEN in 2010.
  • The series will begin broadcasting on 4th October 2014 and like Fate/Zero, will be split into two halves. The second half will begin in April 2015.
  • The opening theme will be “ideal white” by Mashiro Ayano, while the ending theme will be performed by Kalafina.

Aniplex have also updated a brand new trailer for the series to their YouTube channel:

They also revealed that a theatrical feature based on Fate/stay night‘s “Heaven’s Feel” route has also been green-lit. The Heaven’s Feel route focuses on Sakura Matoi, who despite not being supposed to enter the Holy Grail War, finds herself being a key player when a relationship with Shiro causes her inner passion and mental restraints to go berserk. A trailer for Fate stay night: Heaven’s Feel was also released:

MVM Entertainment released both the original Fate/stay night anime and Fate/Zero in the United Kingdom, while MangaUK released the original Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works movie.
