Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann added to Netflix UK!

Over the last couple of weeks in the UK anime scene, there has been a lot of discussion over the impact of video demand services such as Crunchyroll, Lovefilm and Netflix and whether they will be future for niche mediums like anime in the future.

A small number of anime series’ and movies are currently available on the service and today, Anime Limited revealed on Facebook that two of their most highly anticipated licenses have been added to the line-up: Studio Trigger’s 2013 hit Kill la Kill and Gainax’s 2007 classic Gurren Lagann! Both series’ are directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and written by Kazuki Nakashima.

Gurren Lagann is available in both English dubbed and Japanese subtitled formats, while Kill la Kill can currently only be viewed in the original Japanese language (with English subtitles).

Anime Limited will be releasing Gurren Lagann as a collector’s “Ultimate Edition” on 1st September, with a regular DVD and blu-ray release to follow in October. They will also be releasing Kill la Kill in the near future.
