Michael Bay expresses interest in Neon Genesis Evangelion
Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth film in Michael Bay’s film series based on the Transformers multi-media franchise, is set to be released worldwide at the end of next month. While speaking to journalists regarding his upcoming feature, the Pearl Harbor director was reportedly asked about whether he would want to direct movies based on other franchises following Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to which he apparently replied:
“I don’t know if you are familiar with ‘Evangelion’ but that’s one movie that I want to direct”
When pressed about whether he was currently working on the film, all he could give in response was a smile. This isn’t really confirmation of anything, but could it be possible that Michael Bay is currently lined up to directed a film based on Hideki Anno’s cult classic post-apocalyptic, psychological thriller mecha franchise?
