| Production of Satoshi Kon’s Dreaming Machine Paused | Tue, 9 Aug 2011 |
|
Almost a year after the sad passing of Satoshi Kon news has emerged that production of Dreaming Machine has been halted. This was to be the final work of Satoshi Kon, the director of classics like Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent, because he knew he was terminally ill. Yume Miru Kikai (The Dream Machine) was thought to be on track for completion due to detailed plans left behind but Madhouse founder Masao Maruyama announced the bad news at the Otakon 2011 where he indicated that production on the work had stopped due to the poor financial health of the studio. 600 shots had already been animated but there were still 900 to go before the movie was completed. Maruyama has renewed his commitment to finishing the fim one day.
