MCM Expo Spring2011: News and New Anime Licenses
The latest news and new licenses from MCM Expo Spring 2011: Manga UK: Manga UK have announced the following New Anime licenses: Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, King of Thorn, Freedom, Tiger & Bunny and Strike Witches Seasons 1 & 2. Freedom was original licensed in the UK by BEEZ on Blu-Ray only. Manga UK this time will be releasing it on both Blu-Ray & DVD for October 10th. The First season of Strike Witches should be released for this October with the second series following in 2012. Manga UK have also mentioned that the release of Summer Wars sold really well. MVM: MVM have licensed the second series of Ikki Tousen. Samurai Champloo has been re-licensed for another 5/7 years. MVM have not given up on licensing Anime titles, they will be hopefully announcing more Anime licenses in the near future. But they won't be licensing as many as titles as they did before and they have stopped releasing title in single disc format. MVM also mentioned the 2 box set release of Tower of Druaga sold remarkable well. KAZE: Kaze have licensed Princess Jellyfish . Its unclear if Manga UK or BEEZ are releasing it or if KAZE themselves are going to distribute it. |
