A teaser trailer for a new CG animated feature film based on Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya has been released by Toei. Saint Seiya follows five mystical warriors called the “Saints” (or “Knights”) who have sworn to defend the Greek goddess Athena in her battle against the other Olympian Gods who want to dominate Earth. They fight wearing sacred armour named “Cloths” which are based on various constellations. Saint Seiya was serialised in weekly Shōnen Jump from 1986 to 1991, and adapted into an anime series by Toei from 1986 to 1989. The show’s popularity persuaded Toei to create a new adaptation of the mythological manga in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the franchise. It has been made using the latest CG technology in order to bring the story to a new generation of fans. Source ANN and Anime Anime
