With London expo right around the corner, here's a few of the highlights of the coming show:
- EXTRA DAY: Running over three days for the first time – 29-31 Oct. – with press/preview day on the Friday. - COSPLAY: Hosting EuroCosplay 2010 finals, with cosplayers from across Europe looking to impress an international panel of judges. - EAGLE AWARDS: the world’s longest running fan-voted comic book accolades – held on the evening of Friday 29 October. - SPONSOR: Capcom’s upcoming actioner Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has been announced as the overall sponsor for the show. - COMICS: The Comic Village will host top comic artists and writers, including Bernard Chang, Paul Cornell, Antony Johnston, Tony Lee and Jock and Andy Diggle – for an up-to-date list see www.londonexpo.com/guests/artistswriters - ZONES: Special Expo zones include Japanex, an interactive exhibition of all things Japanese, and Totally Cosplay, a dedicated Cosplay area featuring its own stage. - GUESTS: co-star Lucas Bryant and executive producer Shawn Piller will be hosting a panel on new SyFy series Haven - GUESTS: Colin Ferguson, Erica Cerra and Jaime Ray Newman will be hosting a panel on A Town Called Eureka - GUESTS: series creators and executive producers Tim Haines and Adrian Hodges will be hosting a panel on Primeval - GUESTS: Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly and Saul Rubinek will be hosting a panel on Warehouse 13 - GUESTS: Best-selling British science fiction author Peter F. Hamilton will be hosting a panel to discuss his work and answer audience questions, and he will also be signing books for his fans. - GUESTS: Tony Todd – aka Candyman – will be making an appearance (well, the show is on Hallowe’en weekend, after all!) - GUESTS: noted voice actors Roger Craig Smith (Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Resident Evil 5, etc.); Stephanie Sheh (Bleach, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Naruto, Vampire Knight, etc.) and Michael Sinterniklaas (eden of the East, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc) are all confirmed as special guests. - GAMES: October’s London MCM Expo will be closing out this year’s London Games Festival - GAMES: Games publishers already confirmed as attending include Nintendo; EA Games; Ubisoft; Tecmo Koei; Capcom; Warner Bros. Games; Bandai Namco; Atari Europe; Zen United; Curve and Rising Star Games. - GAMES: Capcom will be showcasing Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. - GAMES: EA Games will be giving games an early glimpse of Dead Space 2, not released until January 2011, and Medal of Honor. Dead Space writer and award-winning author Antony Johnston, will also be attending the show. - GAMES: Warner Bros. Games will be showcasing Batman: The Brave & Bold and Super Scribblenauts. - GAMES: Namco Bandai’s roster of Expo titles will include new IPs such as Enslaved and Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, as well as anime-based fighters Dragonball Raging Blast 2, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and DBZ Tenkaichi Tag Team. - GAMES: PQube and Zen United will be showcasing BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, which hits shelves on the first day of the show. - GAMES: Atari Europe will be showcasing new download title Blade Kitten. - GAMES: British indie developer Curve Studios will be giving show visitors the first ever hand-on of new title Expodemon! - Comics legend Chris Claremont is to be a special guest at the 29-31 October show’s Comic Village.
