Funimation who, along with Toei, agreed to Simulcast One Piece for the first time yesterday have cancelled it after their servers where compromised. Someone had gained access to episode 403 and posted it online 24 hours before it was due to air on Funi's One Piece website. Quoting from their statement on the matter: "An unknown individual accessed and posted episode 403 online and as a direct result of this illegal act, all U.S. and Canadian fans will be deprived of access to this great anime series for the immediate future. We will make every effort to locate and prosecute the perpetrator(s) to the fullest extent of the law and will provide updates regarding this most serious matter." Both Hulu and Joost who also had the right to stream One Piece online a week after it aired have both taken their episodes offline due to the incident. |
