According to wide spread reports, North America's "Newtype USA" anime magazine is to cease publication as of February 2008. Owned by ADV Films, no reason has been provided for its sudden demise, but since this news comes hot on the heels of ADV culling their "Anime Network" TV channels in the US and the UK too, many suspect the company's financial situation could be precarious. Also, the withdrawal of Geneon USA from the US anime industry will have seriously impacted on Newtype USA's advertising budget.
