A midnight news report on the AnimeNewsNetwork announced that Funimation have licensed the anime adaptation of Shido Inada's shoujo manga "Ghost Hunt", which is in turn adapted from the original novel series - "Akuryo Series" (also known as "Evil Spirit") from the renowned author Fuyumi Ono. Ghost Hunt follows the story of a high school girl Mai Taniyama, who gets caught up in paranormal activities and ends up being the assistant of a member of a psychic research centre. The adventure follows both these characters as they travel through Japan, encountering situations related to Asian folklore and European mythology. Originally airing in Japan from October 2006, the 25-episode series will begin its release sometime in the Autumn of 2008 for America. Revelation have yet to announce the series, but as they are the official UK representatives of Funimation it is assumed that an announcement will appear at a later stage. It is also to be noted that Tanoshimi release the manga in the UK.
