Interview with Tokyopop's Mike Kiley on ICv2 Wed, 19 Sep 2007

ICv2 have posted a three-part-interview with a publisher from Tokyopop, detailing the growth of manga as an industry; the recent manga 'surge'; and the differences between the Japanese and English industry, focussing on light novels and how Tokyopop feel about their franchises.
 
Tokyopop are a leader in the manga industry across the Western world, being one of the first publishers to release manga outside of Japan, and the first to venture into the many aspects of Japanese literature.  With their recent purchase of the "Twelve Kingdoms" novel franchise, which they are releasing annual hardback editions of, and their long running release of the "Fruits Basket" manga, along with being the first publishers to push "Global Manga" ('manga' of English origin) into the mainstream.
