Over the last few days, San Diego Comic Con (arguably North America's largest comic convention) has been taking place and as is ever the case with these large events, several new anime and manga licenses were announced. Specifically, Viz Media have acquired two highly acclaimed shojo/josei anime TV series in Honey & Clover and NANA, while FUNimation announced that they've picked up the anime CG movie Vexille; notable for being from the same creative team who brought us the 2004 Appleseed movie and directed by Fumihiko Sori (who previously helmed the fan favourite live action movie Ping Pong). If you're manga fan, you will be interested to know that Anime News Network have posted a handy list of every new manga license announced at the SDCC. A lot of manga was announced.
