Gantz Live Action due 2011

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/irUtAqlk7dk?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/irUtAqlk7dk?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I'm starting to dig this...

The Warrior's Way or, better title still... COWBOYS VS. NINJA

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V6Qi9QaL0Lg?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V6Qi9QaL0Lg?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I was wondering what happened to Kate Bosworth. This looks like it'll be some fun.

Paranormal Activity 2 - Tokyo Night

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JY5OcHw5Q-8?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JY5OcHw5Q-8?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Was the first film that scary?

Mardock Scramble

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0IAr8IBAApc?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0IAr8IBAApc?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Reminds me of 2046...

Mardock Scramble should be ace.

As for Paranormal Activity, I thought it looked really crappy so didn't bother with it, but my sister - who is one of the most scared-by-horror-movies people I know - saw it and said it was the least scary, most corny thing she'd seen in ages. That trailer looked alright, though.

Gantz... I guess it could be OK, but I still think it's maybe a bit too ludicrous to buy it as live action.

LOL I was thinking "haha that guy looks like L with his hair and white shirt" and then it actually was =P I actually think Gantz live-action looks a lot better than the anime. I really REALLY did not like the anime at all. It was SO slow and also I didn't find kei believable the further it went in. He started off as a flawed jerk, but a realistic character nonetheless and then... well "boinga boinga" anyone?

Whilst the Mardock Scramble trailer unveils no details of characterisation or plot, the setting, ambience and quiet intimacy it depicts are sufficient to colour me interested. I cannot conceal my soft spot for the seemingly endless cityscapes of fictional tomorrow, even if they are somewhat commonplace amongst anime.

The Walking Dead coming to UK television soon. Looks awesome

The Coen Brothers are back with something that looks entertaining.

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uco41pOKeJg?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uco41pOKeJg?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

True Grit

This one is called 127 Hours.

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nWWcQC0ZxIM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nWWcQC0ZxIM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Early word on this is that it's better than Slumdog and could earn Boyle another Oscar.

Took you long enough to post True Grit, was considering just posting it myself.

Cautiously anticipating The Walking Dead, replacing comic characters with original characters? But Kirkman said they're not generic filler so hopefully they might be interesting.

I can't decide if Gantz looks terrible or good. There's no way it's going to capture the black comedy aspect of Oku's manga or look right with low budget, Gonzo-esque Buddha statue CG - that much is certain.

I just want an excuse to see Battle Royale on the big screen again... and 3D has given it.

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lwox-dMmtrk?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lwox-dMmtrk?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

The Tempest

For a woman called Jason, your taste in movies is horrifically horrific. The Battle Royale movie is a collection of poorly acted death scenes from the novel, with that bitch of a ladyboy from Death Note screaming like a whore on crack non-stop. I had to save myself from further suffering around the 60 min mark.

The Gantz flick will probably be terrible too since it has no chance of being 'so bad, it's good' like the manga and, in all probability, will be just plain bad. But at least I'll get to laugh some more at CG Buddha,

I'm posting trailers that I think the forum might find interesting. Adaptations of anime/manga and intriguing films like True Grit and Cold Fish.

I'm not particularly interested in Gantz, anime or manga. As for Battle Royale, that was just fun.

Unlike you.

Now go back to your cage, you bore me.

Allow me to put what I typed in another, more friendly way:

Gantz probably won't be very good but I'll watch it for the hell of it. TYVM for posting a trailer I hadn't seen!

You may not know this, but the live-action of Battle Royale is a horrible version of the novel/manga - removing all characterization and featuring nasty acting. I advise you give the novel a go before exciting yourself over the movie in 3D.

Understand?

Fair enough. The Battle Royale book has been on my shopping list for a while so I'll give it a go.

I just don't see what's to be gained by 3ding it. People complain about 3dfication of Star Wars, but that's a film that has scale and it would work rather well (shameless marketing ploy though it is), I just don't see what Battle Royale gains from being in 3D. But then, for the most part I don't care for it anyways.
