Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s Ninja Scroll was recently re-released in Japan on Blu-ray and that Blu-ray contains a trailer of an unproduced sequel that never made it past the pilot stage.

2013 marks twenty years since Madhouse released the critically acclaimed anime Ninja Scroll and as a result there are new Blu-Ray editions being produced. Manga UK are releasing a limited edition version of Ninja Scroll on the 26th of November 2012.

Interesting. This is presumably not going to be used as part of the sequel now being produced?

Hmm, I can sort of see why this was cancelled. It looks a bit like a poor man's 2002 reheated Ninja Scroll. Probably would have been a bit disappointing had it actually got made.
