Also, MangaUK wants to know about the Japanese Ghost in the Shell blu-ray, as they are interested in giving that the steelbook blu-ray treatment.

YES. A MILLION TIMES YES. Take my money, Manga. Original unmolested GitS in HD, packaged in a lovely full artwork Steelbook sans ratings stickers. My kind of release.

Also, would it be a stretch to ask them to see whether or not getting the Stand Alone Complex series on BD as well is a future prospect for them?

I'm sure that's only a matter of time. There can be no doubt it will sell incredibly well, it's just a question of when and how cheaply Western distros can get their hands on the licence.

Just in case anyone doubted it, MangaUK's Madoka blu-ray release will be Region B only and will have locked subtitles.

Also, the situation about the complete collection not being a permanent thing has yet to be confirmed.

Are they talking the original version or the 2.0 version and if the former, will it be released in a Movie pack with 2.0 and Disappearance?

Some days ago it was announced the Italian release, there is the first and 2.0 in one package, and Innocence in another. I suppose it will be similar everywhere.

Stand Alone Complex was the next series I wanted to buy, guess it's better if I wait a bit more.

I'd snap up GITS SAC on blu ray in an instant. And A blu ray player to watch them with. That's how much I love the show - even after FOUR re-watches.

I got an email from Sainsbury's this morning saying the Grave of the Fireflies BluRay had been pushed back from 12th November to an unspecified date. For whatever reason they don't list Totoro BD at all but it's a safe assumption that it would be delayed as well. Play.com also list Fireflies without a date. iirc this happened last year as well with Ghibli BD's put back to the new year.

For those interested in something more adult, tomorrow DMP is holding a yaoi-themed Twitter trivia contest as part of "Yaoi Day".

Apparently the Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning UK premiere is at London on 23rd September at BFI Southbank. Although BFI Southbank's website has yet to be updated with such an event.

Source.

How have DMP failed to explain in the article why tomorrow is called "Yaoi Day", when their own yaoi imprint is named after it?

And Play have put this up for 12th November

The Castle of Cagliostro BD double play.

Which is still a StudioCanal license, despite the temp Manga artwork.

In Manga News...

Shiki Part 1 scheduled for 8th October

Guess it hasn't been Kenichi'd into non-existence.

Glad Jeremy took over that Twitter account, Jerome would have ignored the same question he answered.

Crunchyroll PS3 App Launches Today

Well Actually Now...I know this is probably non-news due to being released NA only...but if you have a NA PSN account you can download it from the NA Store and you can login via your EU accounts, it does work, I'm currently watching Space Brothers at the moment.

That just reminds me, I need to start watching Space Brothers again! I only saw the first 3 eps and thought they were great. I love it when I remember I've got loads of good anime to catch up on.
