Just before the year began we reported that The Irregular at Magic High School would be delisted from the service alongside Gunslinger Girl. It did happen, and now almost a month later the show is now back on the service!

The Irregular at Magic High School (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei) is a 26 episode series which aired during the Spring 2014 anime season. It was licensed under Aniplex of America but the show never saw an official UK legal stream until the distributor added the series over onto Netflix. As Aniplex of America have released the series on home video without a dub, the Netflix stream is Japanese audio with English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese subtitles only.

You can check out the show on Netflix via this link here.

Magic – a century has passed since this concept has been recognized as a formal technology instead of the product of the occult or mere folklore. The season is spring and it is time for a brand new school year.

At the National Magic University First Affiliate High School, a.k.a Magic High School, students are divided into two distinct groups according to their academic performances. The “Blooms,” who demonstrate the highest grades, are enrolled in the First Course, and the “Weeds,” who have a poor academic record, are enrolled in the Second Course.

This spring, a very peculiar brother and sister enroll as new students. The brother is an underachiever with some deficiencies and enrolls as a Weed, while his younger sister is an honor student, who enrolls as a Bloom. The brother with a somewhat philosophical disposition and the younger sister who holds feelings a little stronger than sibling love for him… Ever since these two entered through the gates of this prestigious school, the calm campus has begun to change.

The Irregular at Magic High School is currently unlicensed for the UK & Ireland while Aniplex of America have released the series on Blu-ray (however Set 1 is out of print at the time of this post). Yen Press have licensed the original light novel source material, the manga adaptation as well as some spin-off manga series for print.
