Netflix have been keeping themselves rather quiet with this particular series for a very long time, and now we can confirm that it’s almost here!

Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler is a show that aired back in the Summer of 2017 by studio MAPPA and never got any attention for legal streams due to Netflix acquiring the rights. The show had no word on any release date whatsoever but now we can confirm that all of the episodes will be coming to the service worldwide outside Japan (since it’s in Japan already) starting 1st February 2018.

You can view the show page here.

Currently there is a trailer available in Japanese with English, Polish, Arabic, French and Japanese Closed Captions for now. It will very likely receive an dub as all of the other Netflix Original anime titles have done in the past.

Live. Bet your life on it.

There is one absolute rule in gambling — at the end of the day, there is a winner and a loser. The winner gains riches and prestige, while the loser is branded a failure and left with nothing. In the silence leading up to the moment that separates winners and losers, instincts are sharpened and desires reach the point of ecstasy. This is a harsh microcosm of life in a capitalist society. Why are people captivated by a world filled with risk? What lies beyond the madness? As the class system of modern society crumbles, an unprecedented adrenaline-pumping anime sweeps the world.

Kakegurui will be available on Netflix starting 1st February 2018. A Season 2 is in the works. The manga is available to read by publisher Yen Press.

That was a summer show wasn't it? So Children of the Whales is still months away :(

I managed to predict that Kakegurui would be in February so I'm going to bet that Children of the Whales is probably set for April at least (since March is packed full of Netflix Original anime + Fate/Apo's 2nd half).

Awesome, I'll soon be able to binge a series I've been looking forward to as someone comes in the room, sees the kind of faces they pull in this series, and look down upon me in shame. What? It's about gambling and boredom... you're just looking at me like I'm enjoying bored high school kids pull faces only adults pull behind closed doors, in the dark, after midnight
