It has been revealed that Animatsu will release supernatural thrill series Mirai Nikki: Future Diary on Blu-Ray and DVD later this year.

The series had been originally announced to be released on DVD back in 2012 under a Kaze licence, the series originally being streamed on Anime On Demand, but in an interview with Japan Curiosity Andrew Hewson announced that they had taken up the licence instead.

It will be released in two parts of thirteen episodes each, with the Blu-Ray listed with an RRP of £34.99, and the DVD version at £29.99.

The series revolves on troubled student Yuki Amano, a loner who spends much of this time keeping a diary on his mobile phone and talking to his imaginary friend: Deus Ex Machina, God of Space and Time. But then Yuki discovers his diary can predict future events, and that Deus is real.

Yuki ends up in a game to the death with 11 other anonymous people, also armed with their own predicting diaries. The win will be the first to kill the others within 90 days. If no-one wins, the world will end. To make things worse, Yuki is designated at being "First" - the strongest player in the game, with his identity being the only one revealed and the chief target of the other participants. The other players range from cops, terrorists, children, and one of Yuki's classmates, Yuno Gasai (Second) - who is also a psychopathic stalker madly in love with Yuki.
