Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac Now Streaming on Netflix

Streaming service Netflix has begun streaming one of their latest anime titles from their ‘Netflix Originals’ line-up.

The series, in particular, is Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac, which is now available across all territories with access to the service. It is available with a total of 6 episodes in multiple languages and subtitles, however the Japanese audio option is not available in select regions, so for the UK you only have access to English, French, European Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and English with Audio Description audio with English Closed Captions, French, Polish, Traditional Chinese, and Arabic subtitles.

Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac is a brand new anime adaptation of the 1986 manga series Saint Seiya by writer Masami Kurumada which serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump. The series ran for 28 volumes and spawned a number of adaptations and spin-off series including Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas (available on Crunchyroll & Netflix), Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold (available on Crunchyroll), and Saint Seiya: Saintia Shou (available on Crunchyroll).

Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac is once again animated by Toei Animation and is the first anime series in the franchise to be animated in CG form, not long after the 2014 CG film Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary. Yoshiharu Ashino will be directing the series with Eugene Son as story editor and scriptwriter, Terumi Nishii as character designer, and Takashi Okazaki as armor designer.

Plot Synopsis (via Netflix):

Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya follows modern day adventures of young warriors called “Knights”, who are sworn protectors of the reincarnated Greek goddess Athena. Each Knights wears a powerful armor based on their chosen zodiac constellation, and are called Knights of the Zodiac. They aid Athena in her battle against powerful Olympian gods who are bent on destroying the humankind.
